CP&R is offering two different ways for you twin a free 6 month family membership to the Cullman Wellness & Aquatic Center in October!

Join us for the all new Floating Pumpkin Patch at the Wellness & Aquatic Center on Saturday, October 24 as part of the Monster Dash & Bash event. The Floating Pumpkin Patch will take place after the Monster Dash 5K where all runners will participate in their Halloween costumes. Entrees in the Floating Pumpkin Patch will jump into the outdoor pool to pick their pumpkin, and one lucky pumpkin will be marked to win a FREE 6 month membership. Following the floating pumpkin patch will be free kids games, activities, and stations for pumpkin carving. Cost is $10 to enter the floating pumpkin patch or $25 for the pumpkin patch and the Monster Dash 5K. Cash prizes will also be given to the best costumes in the Monster Dash. CP&R will also host a pumpkin carving contest on Facebook the week before Halloween: Monday, October 26-Friday, October 30. Carve up your best and most unique pumpkin and take a picture of it to upload to our CP&R Facebook page (www.facebook.com/CullmanParksRec). Winner will also receive a FREE 6 month family membership to the Wellness & Aquatic Center. Be sure to pose in your picture with your pumpkin!

Heritage Park Outdoor Circuit Workout #2

The second circuit for our Heritage Park fitness equipment is here! Modify these exercises to meet your specific needs. If you wish to mix these exercises in with those that were featured in our first     post feel free to do so!  Warm-up: walk 1.5-mile loop or do Cardio Stepper for 5-10 minutes Assisted Row W: 2 sets/ 10 reps M: 2 sets/ 15 reps Squat Press W: 2 sets/10 reps M: 2 sets/ 15 reps Reverse Crunches/Leg Raises W: 2 sets/ 25 reps M: 2 sets/ 25 reps Cool down: walk 1.5-mile loop *Take a 60-90 second break between repetitions or walk to each different station as a “break” ** Be sure to check with your doctor before beginning any new exercise routine.
