Community Wellness Day 2017

Community Wellness Day is back! If you have health and fitness goals set for the new year, this is the event for you! The Cullman Wellness and Aquatic Center will be open FREE to the public on Saturday, January 7, 2017 from 7am-5pm. Here is everything you need to know about the event!
Who can attend? YOU! Not a member of the Cullman Wellness and Aquatic Center? Not a problem, on Community Wellness Day admission is FREE to nonmembers! If you are a member, that doesn’t mean you won’t benefit from coming to this event. There will be a little bit of something for everyone!
What will be going on at Community Wellness Day? This won’t be just a regular Saturday at the gym! ALL memberships opened on this day will be $50 off when you sign-up. The Cullman Wellness and Aquatic Center will be open for workouts, fitness classes, swimming, basketball, and a health fair! Staying Fit During the Holiday Season

Tis the season for homemade sweets that only come around one time of the year. These tempting treats usually come with obligatory attendance to an event with family, friends, or coworkers. So, since you’re at a party and your favorite treat won’t stop staring at you it’s time to splurge, right? You can always work it off later, but the holiday season busiest time of the year. So, what if later doesn’t come until February?
From Thanksgiving to New Year’s there seems to be a giant conga line of delicious foods everywhere you turn. The key to enjoying your favorite holiday treats and staying fit is all about prioritizing. If you know the dates and times to parties and events, mark them in your calendar and plan daily exercise around these events. Here’s the deal, it is the holiday season so here are a few things to think about about while getting into the spirit of things.

Family Camp Out at Heritage Park

The first ever family campout is coming to Heritage Park on November 11-12! The fun starts Friday night at 7pm and will wrap up Saturday morning at 7am. Families with children 15 & under can attend, cost is just $30 for the whole family! You can sign up here or at the Cullman Civic Center by November 10. The activities will include a scavenger hunt, capture the flag, story time, family versus family competitions, lots of prizes, great food and snacks, and more! Here is a picking list so your family is ready for the camp out!

1. A tent. Recommended, but not required, your family will probably want to set up a tent for their base camp or to get in a quick snooze when activities wrap up! All tents are allowed and will be setup on the soccer fields at Heritage Park.

2. Proper attire. We will be doing lots of games across the park, so a good pair of tennis shoes will be needed as well as sporty attire. We recommend bringing an extra pair of clothes or two so you can change if you get …
